This is another simple example of what we're interested in : 

Phase Diagrams*.

* This one is a "P-x" type phase diagram for the Pd-H system (bulk samples), where "x" stands for [H] to [Pd] atomic ratio.
This plot was made by H. Frieske and E. Wicke using desorption isotherms (decomposition pressures). The blue zone - which represents a T-x projection of the Pd-H phase diagram - was built up via Magnetic Susceptibility desorption isotherms (much more precise). Note that this miscibility gap has its boundaries shifted in absorption regime, due to hysteresis effect (see here p. 462 and here).
This plot can also be found e.g. : in Chap. 3, in the Bible "H in M, II, 1978", here (page 81), or in this paper about Ewald Wicke made by Harald Züchner.
The figure (here on the left) has been taken from Jeffrey M. Wheeler's Ph.D. Thesis (page 60).


Our GOAL (here at the i2-HMR) is to fill the blanks in the literature (with a systematic approach). 
When H is inserted in a metallic lattice, its basic properties are modified (either improved, or degraded). Even the most studied M-H system, namely the Pd-H system (discovered in 1866 !!), still has some MAJOR voids remaining in most of its physical properties (including its phase diagram), especially in dependence of its H-to-Pd atomic ratio.

We also address exciting subjects in the field of "H in M",
with the intention to shed light on :

Our research will impact the following fields :

H energy, H embrittlement, H storage, Electricity, Transport, ... in the mid-long term.
The very details of our current research investigations will be shared as soon as achieved
(i.e. with the final step : published papers). We believe that a useful information for the community needs time and many verifications prior to be shared. So : action and prudence.

What you see (the whole website) is a 1st shot (a first draft). Many things are missing.

We make it by ourselves ... so it takes time ... and since we're not skilled in website design/construction ... we expect that you will keep cool with us ;)
Besides, our English is not astonishing as you can see ;) An effort will be made to correct it throughout the website, as soon as possible.
